Papillon was a women's fashion design firm founded by Susan Scheinman and designer Annemarie Gardin. Scheinman was the daughter of Nathan Scheinman, head of McMullen, the New York dress house. Meyer was a fashion industry leader remembered for his interest in labor reform issues, including minimum wage, worker's compensation and working conditions. His interest in education led to his role in the establishment of the Central High School of Needle Trades and Fashion Institute of Technology.
